Kitting and replenishment seamlessly integrated
SEQOS combines its multi-level kitting functionality with its sophisticated location replenishment to provide Kanban style manufacturing and assembly, but without the cards which are required in traditional Kanban systems.
The BOM kitting tables indicate the number of component products at each stage of assembly that are needed to produce the product for the next stage.
Product supersession is supported.
Continuous assembly with the correct products
The replenishment configuration ensures that there is a minimum number of products at each stage to continue the assembly line without stopping, and a maximum number of products to ensure an assembly area is not swamped with product. Staff are automatically triggered to action replenishments using appropriate specialised handling equipment.
A simple example.
- Raw materials from bulk storage locations replenish the first stage assembly.
- The assembled items from the first stage replenish the second stage.
- The process continues through all stages of assembly until the final finished product is completed.
The process is actually initiated from the final assembly step by entering the required quantity of finished products. That triggers replenishment of components products cascading back through each step in the assembly process through to the raw materials needed for the first step in assembly.
Tracking at every level of kitting
Productivity measurement, batches, lots, and other stock attributes are tracked though every step of the manufacturing process.
Serial numbers may be tracked at every level by scanning. When multiple products with serial numbers are assembled, only one product's serial number at the next step needs to be scanned to fully track all other serials.
The number of items produced at each step is available in every type of stock report and enquiry.
