Safety First

The strict storage and handling requirements to satisfy safety standards for chemicals, petroleum, and other hazardous goods (often established by local law) are easily managed in SEQOS by entering the rules into configuration tables. Provision is made for entry by individual products or by product groups, as appropriate to meet the standards.

Locations zones for storing products (including temperature controlled zones, corrosive goods, dangerous goods, flammable goods and other customer definable zones), rules for (or against) storing different products in adjacent locations (that may cause a chemical reaction), and the types of specialised materials handling equipment appropriate for each product, are all encompassed by the SEQOS configuration tables.

Maximum floor loading and maximum weights in racking locations configured in SEQOS prevent users exceeding those limitations.

Handling instructions automatically popup when designated products are received, processed, picked or despatched, advising the storeperson how those products should be processed. Packing rules ensure that particular prohibited products are not packed together.

Track and Trace

Batch and lot number, expiry date, shelf life and other configurable attributes may be assigned to stock during receiving.

Product Recall and Product Return are very simple procedures under SEQOS, since every stock item is allocated a unique reference number, and with all of its attributes is individually tracked from receiving into the warehouse, to its storage location(s), to despatch. Tracking of items extends into the specific carton numbers sent to the customer. Individual items may also have (system-recorded) serial numbers. Tracking extends to serial item level.

Serialised IBCs and other transportation conveyances are tracked from receipt into the warehouse, their use within the warehouse, despatch to the customer, return from customer to the warehouse, and return to the supplier. A rental fee may be assigned to each conveyance type and reports printed showing the payment(s) due.

Quality Control

Quality control, quarantine, sampling, regrading and any other stock disposition are all configurable in SEQOS.

A full audit trail of all stock movement activities is readily produced. Items with specified dispositions are automatically prevented from picking.

Report stock by unit quantities and by item contents

Chemicals and some other products are counted in the warehouse by units and cartons, whereas financial accounting may be by litres or kilograms. Stock reports and data screens in SEQOS show both units of measure, (e.g. cartons), and total contents (e.g. litres).

Units per carton, cartons per pallet, and any other relationships between units of measure are individually configured for each product.

Items may be decanted. Unused residue is accounted for and can be written-off. Tracking is automatically maintained from the original item to the decanted item.
